The late rapper Kiernan AKA Forbes is set to receive the prestigious Global Visionary Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2023.
This award recognizes his significant impact on the global hip-hop landscape.
AKA’s parents, Lynn and Tony Forbes, accepted the award on his behalf during the ceremony held in Atlanta.
The awards will be broadcast on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9 PM ET/PT on BET Africa.
In addition to this honor, Kiernan AKA Forbes leads the nominations for the South African Music Awards 2023.
He received seven nominations across various categories, including Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album, Best Hip-Hop Album, Best Collaboration (for “Lemons (Lemonade)” featuring Nasty C and “Company” featuring Kiddominant), and Best Produced Music Video (for “Lemons (Lemonade)” feat. Nasty C).
